Psychology support for children and teens
Online and in-person psychology appointments for neurodivergent children aged 5-18 who are struggling with big emotions or behaviours at home or school
Book an appointmentWhat can I help with?
These sessions are for children between the ages of 5-18 who are currently experiencing big emotions or behaviours that are interfering with home life, learning or attending school, or social relationships and leisure activities. Your child may already be identified as neurodivergent, you may be wondering if they are neurodivergent, or you may be entirely unsure about their neurotype. That's ok - your child does not have to be formally identified as neurodivergent to access sessions!
Our appointments will be guided by your child and their needs of course, but some of the things I can help with include:
- Anxiety, including social anxiety, separation anxiety, general anxiety, specific phobias or panic attacks/panic disorder
- School anxiety that is making it hard for your child to get to school, stay at school or learn at school
- OCD and/or intrusive thoughts
- Challenges with behavioural and emotional regulation
- Autistic burnout
- Feelings of stress and overwhelm that are making it hard for your child to engage in their usual activities
- Exploring your child's neurotype and neurodivergent identity
- Relationship difficulties or worries
How does it work?
Appointments are available either in person or via Telehealth. This allows you the freedom to choose how you access therapy and what works best for you and your child. It also means you have the flexibility to access support from anywhere in Australia.
Online appointments are available Mon-Wed and Fri between 9am and 3pm. In person appointments are available on Fridays ONLY.
Online sessions are conducted through a video chat platform called VSee. This platform works in a similar way to Zoom, but with end-to-end encryption to ensure your privacy at all times. To access online sessions you will need:
→ A computer, laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, microphone and speaker
→A quiet, private place to talk where you feel comfortable and will not be interrupted.
→A fast and reliable internet connection.
If you are attending via Telehealth, you will be sent a link to access your session. At your scheduled appointment time you will simply click on the link to be connected to Sarah. If you arrive early, you will wait in an online waiting room until Sarah is available, just as you would at the in-person clinic. You can then engage in therapy in the comfort of your own private space.
